Chesapeake Light Craft社は、自作カヤックの世界で最も有名で実績のある会社です。設計図（Plan）だけでなく、マニュアル、キット、その他のサプライも提供しています。国内でこれらを手に入れようとすると、国内の代理店であるカナイ設計を通して買うことができるようです。

World class boat kits, boat plans, and boatbuilding materials. More than 20,000 CLC boats are on the water: Kayaks, Canoes, Sailboats, and more.

いつの時点のデータかはわかりませんが、自作艇が世の中に20000艇以上いるということですね。もともとカヤック製作で行き着いたCLCですが、CLCでは、カヤックだけでなく、ボートやセイルボートもあります。

個人的には、Stand Up Paddle(SUP)やサーフボードのキットも非常に気になります。
